NanoChained

NanoChained builds a chain of nano block hashes secured on the bitcoin blockchain.

The problem

People do not trust the nano consesus system and are concerned that there are not the right economic incentives in place to stop a 51% attack or that there may be other problems with nano's cryptography or such and the nano blockchain could be rolled back.

The solution

People do trust bitcoin's longest proof of work consesus system. By providing a largest proof of work on the bitcoin blockchain we secure a canonical set of nano blocks that the 'one true' nano chain must contain. If you aren't sure which is the real nano chain you can trust the one that has the largest proof of work on bitcoin.

This means that if you can record a nano transaction (hash) on the bitcoin blockchain you can ensure no attack problems with nano will be enough to disuade you from using the bitcoin chain backed history.

If you have a nano node guaranteeing this, even better.

Scoring

It would be astronomically unlikely that the bitcoin blockchain contains nano hashes by chance.

A Nano chain that wasn't authentic would far less likely to have it's hashes on the blockchain, even less likely to have old ones, and even less likely to have a lot of them.

Now imagine it only has nano transaction hashes encoded on it.

A chain is measured by how many bitcoin block confirmations a bitcoin address has bitcoin blocks containing valid nano histories. Ie, the sum of confirmations of bitcoin blocks that have valid nano hashes encoded into them.

You do not get extra score by encoding more than one valid nano hash per bitcoin block, but it will increase the number of nano blocks protected.

Nano transaction hashes that can be infered from previous nano transaction hashes don't count. The work for this has already been done.

A bitcoin address gets the number of confirmations for each block it has added to its score if one send address decodes to a nano transaction hash that could not already be infered by a previous block.

The true nano blocklattice is the one with the most number of confirmations from the bitcoin blockchain in total.
